Thelma E. Helms 95 of Pocola, Oklahoma left this earth to her Heavenly home June 14, 2022. She was born December 20, 1926 in Lamar, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Walter Helms; daughter Lisa Looney; son Dennis Helms; two grandchildren Katrina and Brian Helms; brother J.D. Moser; four sisters Ruthie Mae Moser, Betty French, Shirley Brucks, and Juanita Brown; parents Guy and Irene Moser.
She is survived by her brother Clifford Marpel; sister Bonnie Johns; three sons David Helms, Gary and wife Debbie Helms and Bruce Helms; daughter Linda Sparkman; three grandchildren that she raised as her own, DeAnna and husband Mike Dietz, Alan Helms and Eric Helms; six grandchildren Chris Helms, Corey Davis, Cheryl Cushman, Jennifer Graham, Ashley and J.D. Helms; nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She always had a garden which she loved to work in, and canned many of the veggies that grew in it. She had all kind of flowers, but roses was always her favorite. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans, making one for every one of her children and grandchildren After raising nine kids she would babysit that's how much she loved kids. One of her passions was reading which she did until her eye's got so bad she couldn't see the words.
Everyone she knew loved her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday, June 18,, 2022 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday, June 17, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Alan Helms, Chris Helms, Corey Davis and Eric Helms.
