Died in Wyoming County Community Hospital following a fall in his home. A lifetime resident of this area he was born in the Town of Covington, the son of Ansley and Elizabeth Farley Hurlburt. He had lived in Warsaw for about 75 years and had resided in his home at 116 Prospect St. for the past 39 years. He never married. In his younger years, Mr. Hurlburt was a farmer in the Town of Covington. He also operated a photographic studio in Sardinia in his earlier life. He was a landscape painter and also made woven and crocheted rugs. At one time he worked as a practical nurse.

Parents were: Ansley Addison Hurlburt and Elizabeth Ann Farley.

EDGAR M. HURLBURT
Edgar M. Hurlburt, 95, one of Warsaw’s oldest residents, died in Wyoming County Community Hospital Saturday, February 4th, following a fall in his home Friday.
A lifetime resident of this area he was born in the Town of Covington March 11, 1865, the son of Ansley and Elizabeth Farley Hurlburt. He had lived in Warsaw about 73 years and had resided in his home at 116 Prospect Street for the past 39 years. He had never married.
In his younger years, Mr. Hurlburt was a farmer in the Town of Covington. He also operated a photographic studio in Sardinia in his earlier life. He was a landscape painter and also made woven and crocheted rugs. At one time he worked as a practical nurse. Mr. Hurlburt was also known for his old fashioned flower garden and many neighbors and the sick and elderly were recipients of his artistically arranged bouquets.
During his earlier life, he was active in religious work and had a large record collection of religious and classical music. He also compiled scrapbooks of historical events, both local and national.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews; Mrs. Roy Hosmer of Romeo, Michigan; Mrs. Adam Fladie and Mrs. Algia Walker, Walter Scott, Castile; Milo Hurlburt, Perry, and Frank Hurlburt, Warsaw and several grand nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at the Weeks Funeral Home on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Reverend Herbert G. Councill, Jr. officiating. The burial will be in the Warsaw Cemetery.
