William Wallace Hill was the sixth child of 11 children born in Plainfield, New Jersey to William R. Hill and Caroline Harris Hill. He traveled with his family to Ohio and then to Logan County, IL and then moved to Osage County in 1868. In 1869 he married Mary A. Haywood. In 1883 the family came to north of Kingman, Kansas where he raised his family of 6 children. He was a farmer and retired to the town of Kingman, Kansas. He suffered several strokes and died. All children attended his funeral. He left his wife Mary Ann, children-Uriah, Fred, Walter, Mrs. J.C. Hancock, James, and Pearl Farrar Hill.
