George W. Richards, Jr., 79, well known photographer of Clarksburg and surrounding areas, died yesterday at his home at 4400 Olive St. Maplewood. He was a member of the Vienna Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Nancy Ann Richards, two daughter, Mrs. Bessie Ashby and Mrs. Emma Fenton, and a stepson, Robert E. Jones.

He is survived by his second, Mrs. Mary Jones Richards; five daughters, Mrs. Pearl Snider and Mrs. Dolly Black, both of Canton, O.; Mrs. Lura Gates, Akron, O.; Mrs. Laura McDonald, Vienna, and Mrs. Gussie Smith, Parkersburg; two sons Lester Richards, Williamstown, and Burt Richards, Vienna; one sister, Mrs. Priscilla Poole, Greenfield, O., one brother, J. C. Richards, Mingo Junction, W.Va.; 38 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Vienna Church of Christ with Evangelist T. B. Butterfield officiating. The body will remain at the Franklin funeral home until one hour prior to the services.
