Rick was born and raised in the Olney section of Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Olney High School in 1966. After graduation, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge, Rick joined the Philadelphia Police Department and soon met Anne, who would be his wife of 48 years. After 42 years serving the city of Philadelphia, Rick retired at the rank of Chief Inspector.
Rick loved traveling with his family, particularly to Walt Disney World. He also enjoyed spending time at his shore house in North Wildwood completing jigsaw puzzles, walking along the beach wall, and many Saturday nights at the Elk's Lodge. Rick was fortunate in his retirement to relax in his favorite chair at home and have his seven grandchildren run all around him and spend time with him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Life Celebration Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at John F. Givnish of Academy Rd., 10975 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154, and on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 9:30 – 10:45 AM at the church of St. Anselm, 12670 Dunks Ferry Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154. Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment services will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown PA 18940 at 1:00 PM.
