He attended Saxtons River School and Vermont Academy.
He married Hattie Camp on Ocober 3, 1943 in Randolph, VT. She died in 1970.
He began work for Kathleen Baker at her flower shop on Pleasant Street in Springfield and later purchased the business. He renamed it "Larry's Flower Shop" and was the owner-operator for more than 25 years until his retirement a number of years ago.
His sunny disposition was a joy and inspiration to all who knew him.
Survivors include one brother, Harley Austin of Scotia, NY; one sister, Alice Packard of Saxtons River; and a close friend, John.
He was also predeceased by four brothers, Stanley Austin of Keene, NH, Bernard Austin of Brattleboro, VT, Louis Austin of Montague City, MA, and Richard Austin of Zephyrhills, FL.
At his request, there will be no funeral services.
Burial will be in Townshend, VT.
A private gathering to celebrate his life will be held at the home of his sister.
