Sarah Knapp was born about 1799 or 1800 in Harby. Her parents were Richard Knapp and Elizabeth Chambers. She was baptized in Harby on 4 May 1800. When the 1841 census was taken she was a 40 year old, Sarah Knapp living with her 75 year-old parents in Harby and her 35 year old sister Elizabeth Knapp. (Ages in 1841 were rounded to the nearest five year) Later in that year in September she married William Ewerdine Atkins. She was his 2nd wife. There is no record that she ever had children. Her husband died in 1862. In 1871 she was living with her 66 year old sister Elizabeth with Elizabeth's husband Samuel Smith. Sarah died in 1879 and was buried 14 January 1879 in Harby. She and her husband share a stone. I took the picture of this stone on 29 May 2022.
