This may be a little "pickey" but technically, Asa Holt was killed and scalped by Indians within the first year of his arrival in Erath County, Texas. This was either in 1859 or 1860.  Hood County did not exist until it was carved out of the western half of Johnson County about 1866. Erath County formed the western boundary of Johnson County in 1860 so it is easy to see how he wound up being buried in that part of Johnson County that later became Hood County today. William Riley Seaboalt, Jr. was married to his daughter Julia Elizabeth Holt from 1867 until the marriage was annuled in 1870.
