James Bullock.

James Stanton, son of William and Katherine [sic] Bullock, was born near Toronto, Canada Jan. 1, 1842, and died at his home in Blandinsville Ill. March, 24 1911, aged 69 years, 2 months and 24 days. He came with his parents to this state at the age of six months they settling at Nauvoo living there but a short time. From there they moved to Fountain Green township, where he grew to manhood.

Nov. 11, 1863 [1862] he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Conn, and to this union were born six children[.] One daughter Orpha, was called to the home [above] to await the coming of the loved ones from the home below. He leaves to mourn, his wife and five children; Mrs. Anna Oakman of Macomb, Ill.[,] Mrs[.] Amy Coeur and Mrs. Lucy Smith, Ferris., [sic] Stanton Bullock of Peoria and Mrs. Esther Bivins [sic] of Blandinsville. Also two brothers--John H. of LaHarpe, and Andy, of LaPlata, Mo. One brother and one sister have gone on before. He also leaves ten grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a tender brother, to his friends the soul of Friendship, and to his Christ a life of service.

Since he was 18 years of age he was a member of the M. E. church[.] His cheerful, helpful life will long linger as a fragrant memory in the home which his presence brightened.
