Ada was a Dutch civilian war casualty of World War II, killed in a catastrophic bombing of a kapok factory in Nijmegen. The factory was being used as an air raid shelter; on the night of October 2, 1944, it was sheltering nearly 150 people. During a German bombardment, it was struck by two firebombs, decimating the factory. Over 100 people were killed in the disaster, including many whole families.
