Rose Weiss Berman, known as Rose Weiss, was the former costume designer for the ABC and syndicated musical television series, The Lawrence Welk Show. She designed wardrobes for all the performers during its entire run of the program from 1955 to 1982.
She also designed costumes for the 40th Academy Awards on April 10, 1968, and Lawrence Welk's TV Treasures on PBS in 2007. Since 1989, PBS has rebroadcast Welk programs over many years, principally since color episodes were taped. In 1969, Weiss handled the wardrobes for Bob Hope's tour of the Far East and Southeast Asia to entertain the American troops.
Weiss resided in Los Angeles, California until her first husband David Weiss' death in 1994. In 2012 she was married to the Jewish businessman Bernard "Bernie" Berman, who was born in 1927 in Minnesota, Minnesota and served in the United States Navy. Weiss has two sons from a previous marriage, attorney Cary Bruce Weiss (born 1943) and Brian S. Weiss (born c. 1946), both of Los Angeles.
