Susan was born on December 5, 1947 in Warsaw, New York to the late Arthur and Neva Smith Hardy. Susan worked for many years at Manor Oak Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw and then went on to work at the Batavia VA Medical Center.
Susan enjoyed camping, winters in Florida with her husband, Roy and the time she spent with her family by the ocean in the Outer Banks. She also loved collecting gnomes.
Susan was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Roy W. Abbott who passed away in 2019 and her grandson, Ethan M. Abbott.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Kirk) Schroeder of Castile, Rebecca (Raymond) Hicks of Perry, Jeffrey (Sara Neiman) Abbott of Perry; grandchildren, Alyssa Abbott, Hunter Schroeder, Darren Abbott, Sage Schroeder, Stacy (Jeremiah) Norcross; great-grandchild, Francheskah; her siblings, David (Carol) Hardy of Hornell, Richard Hardy of Utah, Clifford (Sharon) Hardy of Utah and Mary Jane Wilkie of Buffalo.
At Susan's request there will be no public services. Private burial will take place in the Saint Mary's Cemetery in Silver Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Susan to Suzanne's Comfort Care 167 North Main Street Perry, New York 14530.
