Travis Victor Bagwell was born February 21, 1930, in Yuma, Arizona, to William L. and Annie K. Bagwell. He passed away on May 19, 2022, in Grass Valley, California, at the age of 92. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Gellinger (husband Mark), son, Steve (wife, Anita), granddaughter, Robin Gellinger, and grandson, Corey Gellinger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise in February 1988.

At age 5, Travis' family migrated from Arizona to the Twin Oaks Valley (San Marcos). Travis attended grade school in a one-room schoolhouse in Twin Oaks from 1936 to 1943. He graduated from Escondido High School in 1948, then received his AA degree from Palomar College. After 2 years in the U.S. Army, he attended Biola College in Los Angeles, where he met Louise Ward, of Oakland, California. They were married on February 26, 1955.

Throughout his years in Escondido, Travis was very involved in the music ministry at Emmanuel Faith Community Church. He worked for Bank of America for 12 years, and then San Diego Trust & Savings Bank for 18 years. After his early retirement from the bank at age 55, he worked part time for a year at a health club in Escondido, and then took on the job of bookkeeper for SeeCon Construction in Escondido.

In 1996, Travis moved north to Nevada City, California, to be close to his son Steve and daughter-in-law Anita. Travis kept active, singing in the church choir, going to the gym several times a week, and meeting up with friends for lunch.

In his later years, when asked how he was doing, Travis would usually say he was "Fantastic!" He would often quote the verse in II Corinthians, chapter 4, verse 16, which says, "Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day." There is no doubt that he truly lived this, and that he was looking forward to an eternity in Heaven with his Savior, Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Grass Valley, California. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, PO Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862-8200 (for the ministry of Andy & Emily Eatough #385438, nephew to Travis).
