On 4 Aug 1894, the Statesman Journal (Salem, Oregon, page 3) includes him in a list of pension grantees and states he was residing in Rock Point, Jackson County.
On 4 May 1895, the San Francisco Call (San Francisco, California, page 1) includes him in a list of people whose pensions have increased and residing in Rockpoint, Jackson County, Oregon.
I am unable to locate Louis in the 1900 census. I believe he likely died sometime between 1895 and 1900 in Jackson County, Oregon.
