Adaline Betsy Cummins Turner was born to John Cummins and Louisa Mary Brooks Cummins. She married Albert Bertram Turner and they had three children: William John; Mary Emaline; and Harriet Celecta.


Last Rites For Mrs. A. Turner

Remains Were Brought Here From Wheaton, Mo. For Burial
Arriving at noon Saturday, the last remains of Mrs. Albert Turner were brought here from Wheaton, Missouri, where her death occurred on Thursday, March 16. The body lay in state at the Arnoldt Funeral Home until Monday afternoon. Her death followed a heart attack and the infirmities incident to old age. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Smith, at Wheaton, Mo.
Adeline Cummins Turner was born at Kenosha, Wisconsin on January 5th, 1839 and was ninety-four years of age at the time of her death. Coming to this community with her parents as a young girl, she resided with them until the time of her marriage to Albert Turner. For a number of years Mr. and Mrs. Turner lived on the farm now owned by M. J. Cahill. Later they moved into Janesville where her husband owned and operated a small vegetable farm. They left here about thirty-two years ago for Wheaton, No. where Mrs. Turner resided until the time of her death. The deceased is survived by three children: a son William Turner, Wadena; and two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Smith, Wheaton, Mo.; and Mrs. Mary Woodruff of New Jersey. A sister, Mrs. Celesta Cummins Allyn of Faribault who is the last of a family of nine children.
The burial services were held Monday afternoon with Rev. W. I. Kern of Rochester conducting the services at the grave. Interment took place in the Janesville cemetery. The pallbearers were Charles Cummins, M. J. Cahill, Joseph McGovern and Thomas Eustice. The remains were accompanied here on their long journey from Wheaton, Missouri,. By a grandson of the deceased.
