Janet Onna (Dascher) Koehler, 83, entered into eternal life with her Lord, Thursday, January 24, 2008. Born and raised in Albany, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Minnie and Edmund Dascher. She was a home-maker and worked in the day care centers of both St. Matthew and St. Paul Lutheran Churches, where she was affectionately known as "Miss Jan." She was currently a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Janet is survived by her husband, Alfred S. Koehler; daughter, Patrice Koehler; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Donald Palmer; granddaughter, Victoria Palmer and her fiance John Wyld; grandson, Jeffery Palmer and his wife Lisa; grandson, Patrick Palmer and his wife Michelle; and great-granddaughter, Kate Palmer; sister, Ethel (James) Gray; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Florence (Babe)Giuliano and her twin brother, Edmund (Buddy) Dascher and her brother, Norman Dascher. The family would like to sincerely thank Capital District Renal Physicians, Rev. Mark Mueller, Rev. Dave Dietsche, Father Jonathan Gray and Donna Picard for their comfort and support. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Norman E. Dascher Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send donations to the City Mission of Albany, 259 So. Pearl St., Albany, NY 12202.
