Native American (Cherokee/Choctaw through his mother). Albert and his mother lived on the Reservation at Anadarko, OK. Albert's marriage to Minnie Gordon took a turn when he was incarcerated in Texas for bootlegging, about 1914. She was unable to support the children for long, by herself, and had to relinquish their care to an orphanage in Oklahoma City in May of 1916; although they were later in contact with each other when the children became adults. When Albert was released, he moved to California (sic), where some of his children lived, and was later remarried to a woman named Lena, perhaps in Bakersfield, CA (sic-the current link to Lizzie is tentative, as research continues). They had a daughter, Betty June Jones. The three of them visited with his daughter Mary in Fresno about 1945. It is presumed Albert died in California between the late 1940's to the early 1960's.
His children include Velma (a blues singer in CA.), Burrell (Burl or any other spelling variation), and Walter Jones (Walter's whereabouts remained unknown, and his name was probably changed).
