Floyd "Bud" M. Bohlke, 81, of Sioux City, died suddenly from an aneurysm on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City

Floyd "Bud" Bohlke was born on a farm north of Le Mars on June 24, 1926, the son of Edward and Cecelia (Lanners) Bohlke.

He attended and graduated from St. Joe High School in Le Mars.

Bud served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946.

He lived in Le Mars and moved to Sioux City after being released from the Army.

On Sept. 22, 1953, Bud and Bonita "Bonnie" Brown were united in marriage at St. Joe Church in Sioux City.

He was employed at Armour Packing Plant and Prince Manufacturing, retiring after more than 30 years of service.

Bud enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing cards with his brothers and sisters, tinkering, doing crossword puzzles and feeding the squirrels.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Sioux City American Legion, the men's club at the church and Queen of Peace.

Bud is survived by his wife Bonnie of Sioux City; son Mike of Sioux City; daughters Linda and husband Dick Stauble of Burnsville, Minn., and Susan and husband Doug Wurster of Lincoln, Neb.; grandchildren John and wife Jeanne, Kathy, Andrew and wife Stacey, Elizabeth Stauble, Harrison, Brian and Aaron Wurster; great-grandchild Luke Stauble with a second one expected in February 2008; brother Raymond of Le Mars; sisters Shirley Traufler of Le Mars, Marilyn and husband Don Hoffman of Le Mars, Lois and husband LaMont Hageman of Le Mars; sister-in-law Delores Bohlke of Le Mars; brother-in-law Arvid and wife Kay Brown of Sioux City and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Clayton; sisters Rosemary Welter; Darlene Thill; brothers-in-law Arnie Welter; Don Thill and Bill Traufler.
