Anna Catherine Wells was born on January 15, 1922 and was one of six children born to Herman & Alice Wells in Jamestown, NY. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at ten years of age in a little country church in Jamestown. At age 12 her family moved to Corry PA where she eventually graduated from High School in 1939. While attending a Salvation Army Open Air, she accepted the invitation to attend the meetings. She knelt at the penitent form that night. She entered the Training College in 1941 from the Corry PA Corps as a part of the Steadfast Session. She was commissioned in 1942 and appointed to New Castle, PA, and later Erie, Pittsburgh, Punxsutawney, and Carnegie PA. In 1947 she became the Divisional Guard Director in New York City and then later as the Territorial Guard Leader.
In 1951 she married 2nd Lt. Kenneth King. They had three sons, and often during the summers she could be found at summer youth camps. In 1979 she became the Star Lake Resident Manager. She retired in 1983. She served as a manager at the Hillcrest Conference Center in Sharon MA, and in 1986 they retired for the second time to Old Orchard Beach Me. She was an active Home League Member and ran the Sunday morning nursery.

Catherine was one of the models for the WW2 Donut Girl poster.
