Chelan – Dr. Isaac G. Hubbard, 80, a pioneer doctor of the Manson and Lake Chelan area, died in a Chelan hospital Saturday following a brief illness.

Born in Nokomis, Ill., March 27, 1878, Dr. Hubbard spent his early life in that city. After completing high school, he attended a business college and kept books for a large poultry firm. He later served as one of the first rural mail carriers at Nokomis.

In 1907 he was graduated from the Medical School of St. Louis University. He practiced for a brief time at Guthrie, Okla., and later returned to Illinois to practice at Ohlman for 25 years.

In 1918 he came to Manson later returning to Ohlman. He came back to Manson in 1928 and had since practiced medicine here. Last June he moved to Chelan. In over 50 years as a general practioner, Dr. Hubbard had delivered some 2,500 babies.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Hubbard, and a foster son, Oscar Thunhurst, both of Manson; one brother, Dr. Edward D. Hubbard, Fort Myers, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Kate Bald, Nokomis, Ill.; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Jones & Jones is in charge.
