Anton Valerievich Kuprin was a Russian Navy captain who commanded the cruiser Moskva during the Russo-Ukrainian War. He captained the Moskva during the Attack on Snake Island at the start of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, giving the order to shell the island's Ukrainian defenders after they refused to surrender. On 15 April 2022, he was killed when the Moskva was attacked and sunk by two Ukrainian Neptune missiles in the Black Sea.
