Joyce was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Nederland. She had many talents and loved to work with her hands. She was a self-taught portrait artist and sculptor, a seamstress, and had a green thumb. She was also a gourmet cook and was known to make the best Crème Brulee.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-seven years, Deacon Jimmy Bourgeois; sister, Julia Bergeaux; and brother, Floyd Bergeaux.
A gathering of Mrs. Bourgeois' family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2022, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
