Chelan
Fred W. Kembel, 77, a 42- year resident of North Central Washington, died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at Regency Manor Convalescent Center.
He was born Aug. 30, 1921, at Ritzville the son of William and Catherine (Achziger) Kembel.
He was graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1939.
Mr. Kembel was a veteran of World War II, serving the Army in Europe.
Following his discharge, he moved to Kennewick, where he began employment as a lineman with a local power company. On May 30, 1952, he was married to Irene Belson, at Kennewick.
They moved to Wenatchee in 1956, where he began employment with Chelan Co P.U.D. In 1968, he was promoted to line foreman and moved to Chelan in 1969. He retired in 1981. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W.
Survivors include a son, Mark Kembel, of Portland, Ore.; a step-son, Butch Belson, of Marysville; a step-daughter, Shirley Beasley, of Lynnwood; a brother, Paul Kembel, of Spokane; a sister, Kathryn E. Schauer, of Emmett, Idaho; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, in 1995.
Services are under the care of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
