Death of Volney Hickox
Mr. Volney V. Hickox died Tuesday evening at 8:30 p. m., January 26, 1909, aged 67 years, very unexpectedly. Mr. Hickox came to Hood River six years ago from Yakima, Washington. He had resided at Forest Grove, Oregon, prior to that time. He leaves a wife and ten children, who are: Mrs. Emma Gramse of Ontario, Ore., Mrs. Nannie Hickox of Middleton, Mich., Mrs. Abbie Williams of Rupert, Idaho, Victor, Maud, Henry, Bender, Sidney, Lucius, and Nellie of Hood River.
The funeral will likely be held on Friday, time and place not yet determined, owing to the uncertain arrival of some of the relatives who are expected to come.
Mr. Hickox has a brother, William, living at Scotts Mills, Oregon, also a sister, Mrs. Carrie Reed, of the same place. Another brother, L. L. Hickox, lives at Byron Center, Mich. Also a sister living at Tustin, Mich. Burial at Idlewilde.
