Frances' obituary read: "Oakwood-Mrs. Frances Howard, 48, of Oakwood Route died at 9:50 A.M. yesterday (November 3, 1968) in Lake View Memorial where she had been a patient one week. Born October 28, 1920, in Scottsville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of Joseph and Ollie Henson Spencer.

She was married, August 2, ??, in St. Louis, Missouri, to George Howard who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Ollie Wrench of Covington; two sons, Robert Wayne Butler of Indianapolis, Indiana, and William S. Butler in the Navy; two brothers, Marvin and George Spencer, both of Detroit, Michigan; a sister, Mrs. James (Helen) Epperson of Covington; five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.

Mrs. Howard was a member of the Epsilon Phi Sorority, her hobbies were bowling, knitting and raising flowers. The body is at the Johnson Funeral Home in Oakwood were friends will be received 7-9 P.M. Tuesday. Services will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Oakwood United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald Spore will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery." - Commerical News, Danville, IL
