William Conor (Billy) was born on 2 September 1928 was the son of William "Bill" Black (died 1 July 1971) and Margaret O'Dea (died 10 Oct 1975).
He moved to England in the 1940s and lived with his father during his teen years. It is believed he lived not far from his father in Islington all his life.
He married Jane Harris in 1951 and together they had at least one child.
