Delores "Lori" Herzog, at the age of 83 years, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life following a battle with dementia-Alzheimer's Disease on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Azura Memory Care of Manitowoc.

Delores was born on September 22, 1938 in Cooperstown to the late Erwin and Alma (Gauger) Wendt. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Maribel. On May 5, 1957 she married Arnold F. Herzog Jr. at First German Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2008. Delores was a homemaker and a cook at the former Heritage Nursing Home in Manitowoc. She had also been employed at the former Richter Vinegar Company in Manitowoc. Delores enjoyed camping with the Happy Hooligans group and at their seasonal site at Devils River Campground in Maribel. She also enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, plastic canvas craft, and cooking for family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Randy) Berres and her son, Arnold F. "Butch" (Cheri) Herzog III; six grandchildren, Paul (Laura) Herzog, Benjamin (Carissa) Berres, Lisa (Brendt) Hoffman, Katilyn Berres (Joshua Honey), Chad (Lauren) Herzog, Jacob Berres; eleven great grandchildren, Owen, Tucker, Khloe, Ruth, Kail, Jack, Selah, Joy, Isabel, Elias, and Wells; sisters-in-law, Judy Van, Darlene Roedig; brother-in-law, Steve Schreiber; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Alma Wendt, husband, Arnold F. Herzog Jr. and his parents, Arnold F. and Viola Herzog Sr., her siblings, Harry Wendt, Dorothy Luebke, Arlene Schreiber; brothers-in-law, John Tuschel, Fran Burkart, Carl Van, Carl Roedig; and sisters-in-law, Betty Tuschel, June Burkart, and Janet Wendt.

Private memorial services for the family will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, 1033 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Johnston. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of her cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery following the memorial service.

Delores's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Azura Memorial Care and the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all their care and compassion they provided. In lieu of flowers the family requests monetary gifts be given to the Lakeshore Humane Society.
