Obituary from 1988: ARDES FLOWERS Dies at Age 77.
Word was received here of the death of Ardes I. Flowers on Monday, Feb. 1, 1988 at the age of 77. Services were held Friday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Baker with Pastor Dennis Schmidt officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel.
Mrs. Flowers has resided in Baker Since 1917. She moved to Portland and worked for General Analine Film until she retired and then returned to Baker. She was a lifetime member of the First Lutheran Church and past president of the Dorcas Society and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother Orville Reagan.
Survivors are daughters Winnie Ward of La Grande, Virginia Foster and husband Dick or Portland, Bev Klingman and husband Art and Ferriel Gregory and husband Paul of Baker: and one son Dewey Flowers of La Grande and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also living, 1 brother, Cody Reagan of Baker, and one sister, Ferriel DeLap of Lake Oswego.
