Nancy Ellen Surratt was the daughter of William Isom Surratt (1849-1930) and Eliza A. Rippey (1840-1926). She lived in Carroll Co. until 1920, when the family moved to Fluvanna Co. When Nancy died of cancer, the youngest of her six children was just three years old. Nancy had a twin brother, Jimmie Surratt, who died in 1955.
