Born in Jefferson, MD. he was the son of the late Jonathan William and Mary Elizabeth Webster Crum, he was a retired conductor with the B&O Railroad.
Mr. Crum was the husband to Caroline Sitha May Schwaigert Crum, father to Lucille Harris, of Harpers Ferry, WV., Emma Nellie Ware, of Charles Town, WV., Mary Catherine Harding of Harpers Ferry, WV., and sons, William August Crum of Brunswick, MD., Raymond Montgomery Crum of Ranson, WV., Eugene Lucas Crum of Ranson, WV., Charles Robert Crum of Baltimore, MD., Robert Olin Crum of Harpers Ferry, WV., Hubert Bernard Crum of Harpers Ferry, WV.
29 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Emma Kate Crum Rice, Mary Valentine "Valley" Crum, James William Crum, Maggie Crum, Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Crum, Mary Jane Crum Orrison, Virginia M. Crum, and Anna Mary Crum Keller, and an infant son, Edward Brisco Crum.
Mr. Crum loved his retirement from the railroad and planting his garden and enjoyed his neighbors and spent most of his spare time either on his front porch smoking his pipe or in his back yard swing resting in the cool breezes of the afternoon. He truly enjoyed his grandchildren and taught them many gardening tips and life lessons.
He leaves a legacy of love and devotion to family.
