Matilda was the sister of Sarah (Sadie) b: 1897, Mary b: 1883 (deceased by age 7), Mary b: 8/7/1890-1891, William A. b: 5/16/1881. Charles Joseph b: 6/3/1882, John b: 2/1886 (deceased by age 4) and Henry Handford b: 1884. The sisters were born in the USA except Mary b: 1883 in England and the brothers were born in England except John b: 2/1886 who was born in the USA.

Matilda was married to Charles AA Hanford (son of Charles J. Hanford and Mary E. Pauling) on June 1st 1917 until they separated in 1946. They had no children.
