He married 1) Katie Grant on 24 Nov 1864 in Vassalboro, Maine.
He married 2) Lorinda F. Odlin on 4 Jul 1876 in Waterville, Maine.
In 1880 he was a farmer in Mercer, Maine. In 1900 he was widowed and lived with his sister Susan Benson and her family in Oakland, Maine.
He died of apoplexy (a stroke) at the age of 66. His death record calls him a painter.
