Lillian L. Picton, 96 Formerly of Hanover St. Wilkes-Barre and later White Haven and of late a guest of Davis Manor, died Monday, April 30, 2007, at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Hospice Unit.
Born in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and May Schimmel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Mrs. Picton was a graduate of Coughlin High School and the former Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. Before retiring, she was a private duty nurse at the former Contagious Disease Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. On January first 1937 she married the George R. Picton who worked for the Pennsylvania LCB. Lillian was also a Recipient of the "Archey award" in 1962 for her work in the field of Pennsylvania Archaeology.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ralph
Picton, who died in 1974.
