Andrew A. Shay of 2755 Arrow Highway, La Verne, died Tuesday in Long Beach Veteran's Hospital following a long illness.

He was born Nov. 4, 1920 in Lapeer, Mich., moved to Upland from Nevada in 1955 and then to the Pomona area in 1958. He worked as an auto salesman in the Ontario area for 20 years. He served with the U.S. Army and Air Force during World War II, and served in North Africa where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans in Pomona and a member of the Triangle Club.

Survivors include his widow, Virginia; a daughter, Mrs. Sharon West of Upland; a son, Jerry R. Goodman of Spain; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Snoblen of Lapeer and Mrs. Vera Davidson of Pontiac, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Todd Memorial Chapel Pomona. Burial will be made in Pomona Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pomona Chapel today from 2 to 9 p.m.
