. Willystene Calfee, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
. She was born on Dec. 28, 1926, to the late Urbane and Tillie Goins Calfee. A lifelong resident of Cleveland, Willystene was the oldest of six children and spent most of her life living at the family's Hidden Valley Dairy Farm.
. She graduated from Charleston High School in 1944. Early in her career, she worked for White Wing Publishing. She later worked for Jackson Manufacturing – Cleveland Chair Company for over 30 years as secretary to the Jackson family. She retired in 1992.
. Willystene was an accomplished musician. She served as an organist at the Voice of Salvation, Wildwood Church, and later, Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy. Willystene was a member of The Church of God – Zion Hill.
She was known as the family historian of the Calfee/Goins family. Willystene enjoyed documenting her life and the lives of her family. Her commitment to details has provided a rich history complete with dates, photos and movies that will be shared for generations.
. In addition to her parents, Willystene was preceded in death by siblings, Albert Lee Calfee, Allen Calfee and Irene Gaddis.
. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brother, Ulyss Calfee (Bonnie); sister, Helen Calfee; sisters-in-law, Ellen Calfee and Kizzie Calfee; and her beloved nieces and nephews who loved and cherished their "Aunt Tene;" and many special cousins.
. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at The Church of God – Zion Hill with Pastor Harvey Anders officiating.
. The interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
. Her family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
. The family wishes to thank her church family and many wonderful friends for the love, support, and friendship shown to her throughout the years. Thank you to her special friends, Sandra and Gene Hysinger, Darlene Casteel, and Hospice of Chattanooga.
. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Church of God – Zion Hill or the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Chattanooga in memory of her great-nephew, Ryan Ramsey.
