Germaine K. Corbett, 91, of Syracuse passed away on July 30 at home surrounded by her loving family and devoted grand dog, Oakley. She was born on March 30, 1931 to Francis and Antoinette Kunzelman and raised on the North side. Germaine moved to Tipperary Hill after the marriage to her beloved husband, Tom. She worked 25 years at N.Y. Telephone Co. as a computer operator. Germaine was artistic, creative and known for hand sewing costumes for her family. She was an excellent dancer who won awards for pair dancing in High School at Assumption Academy. (She could out Jitterbug most of us.) She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, bingo and trips to the Casinos. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she passed all traditions to her children. Germaine lived life to the fullest. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Corbett, son, Daniel R. Corbett, son-in-law, Timothy P. McConnell, grandson, Kevin Maiorano, sisters; Ellen Kessler, Marian Hester, Shirley Kunzelman, Mildred Roskopf, Norma Kessler and brother, Charles Kunzelman. Germaine is survived by her children; Kathleen McConnell (James), Thomas (Pam) Corbett, Colleen (John) Maiorano, Mary (Scott) Swindon, and Maureen Corbett, grandchildren, Kelly (Jason) Hubbard, Bridget McConnell, Jaclyn Stone, Elyssa Corbett, Jeni (Jeff) Clark, Jessica Swindon, and Eric (Alexis) Swindon, brother, Francis (Mary) Kunzelman and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10am in St. Patrick's- St. Brigid's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave. Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Syracuse, NY. Burial will be private at a later date in Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Patrick's- St. Brigid's Church or St. Patrick's-St. Brigid's Food Bank, 216 N. Lowell Ave. Syracuse, NY 13204.
