Lester Ernest Pleasant, 91, Dryden, passed away Wednesday(March 30, 2005) at Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap.
He had resided in Lee County since 1985, Lester was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Inman Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army, Lester was previously employed by the Montgomery College.
He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Pleasant, his parents Frank and Ada McBride Pleasant, three brothers Frank, Vernon and Harold Pleasant.
He is survived by three sons, Chester Pleasant, Myersville, Md. Ernest Pleasant, Kearneysville, WVa, Bobby Pleasant, Damasus, Md: five daughters Rhonda Williams, Dryden, Brenda Russell, Silver Springs, Md, Saundra Pleasant, Frederick, Md, Paula Myers, Frederick, Md, Pamela Kelly, Gaithersburg, Md, a brother, Kenneth Pleasant, Big Stone Gap Va ,sisters, Virginia Lane and Patricia Leonard both of Hamilton, Ohio, Lillie Akens, Big Stone Gap, Va, Pansy Giza, Morristown, Tenn and Mrs Irene (Joseph) Douglas Kingsport, Tenn, 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Service was conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Gilliam Funeral Home Chapel, Big Stone Gap, Va, with Pastor Claude Ray officiating.
