DONALD ROY BYRNES, 86, died December 31, 2010 at home surrounded by family members. He was a retired rancher of the Antelope Valley.

Don was born April 28, 1924 in Watts, California. He grew up in Picacho, Arizona. When Don was young he mined with his Dad. Then he enlisted in the Navy during World War II and did 2 tours. After the Navy he mined in Bishop, California. In 1958 he met his wife, Donna, worked on her father's horse ranch, were married and moved to the Antelope Valley. Don loved Harleys and loved his "49" Chevy Pickup so much he wanted to be buried in it (but it's not happening).

He is survived by his five children, Tammy Estes, Donald Roy Byrnes, III ("Rowdy"), Dana Byrnes, Shawnaree Goodwin and Travus Byrnes; one sister Anita Dering, one brother, Albert ("Little Albert") Mendevil, one aunt Margorie Fairchild, 15 grandchildren, Donald Roy Byrnes IV, Jeremiah Byrnes, Damien Forrand, Keri Blua, Brian Forrand, Tiffany Forrand, Dayna Byrnes, Jason Byrnes, Jonte Goodwin, Justin Goodwin, Alex Goodwin, Amanda ("Mandy") Estes, Danielle Byrnes, Donnavin Byrnes and Devin Byrnes; 14 great grandchildren, Donald Roy Byrnes V, Alex Byrnes, Michael Gibson, Nathan Harlow, Alyssa Byrnes, Caila Byrnes, Kevin Harlow, Jeremiah Byrnes Jr; Cheyenne Harlow, Thomas Forrand, Cali Moses, Joseph Forrand, Deegan Byrnes, and Brian Forrand, Jr.
