Richard's obituary read:
"Richard J. Mitchell, beloved husband of Beth (nee Nordloh) Mitchell. Devoted father to daughters; Kate Rowe (Tim) and Maggie Schlosser (Matt). Pops' wonderful sense of humor will be missed by grandchildren; Lily, Evie, Mitchell, and George. Dear brother of Jack (the late Harriet), Bob (Janet) and Mike (Lorrie) Mitchell. Predeceased by his parents John and Martha Mitchell. Dick spent the majority of his career working in sales for NCR and Lowes. In addition to enjoying time with his family he had a passion and talent for restoring furniture. As an organ donor twenty-five people will benefit from Dick's generosity. We pray that God continues to bless those receiving these gifts. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church. Memorial Mass immediately following at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Magic Foundation for Children's Endocrine Growth, 4200 Cantera Dr., #106 Warrenville, IL 60555."
