Memorial services for Sherri Lee Shields (Baade), 65, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 10:00am, Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Craig Bostian officiating. Sherri died Monday, October 11, 2021, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. The family asks to people respect social distancing and encourages people who wish to wear masks to do so. Fellowship will follow at 12 Main Street in Mina, SD.

Sherri was born on August 29, 1956, to Marian Stone in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up and attended various schools in South Dakota and Iowa and later received her GED. She continued her education by taking credit courses at Northern State University in Aberdeen.

In 1981, Sherri started a career with Bureau of Indian Affairs. She held various positions in the Federal Government such as with the Office of Indian Education and the Office of Tribal Government. The longest part of her career was as a highly respected Contract Specialist. She resigned from Federal Service in 2003 because of health problems.

Sherri had a big heart and cared about her family tremendously. She cherished events spent with her family and especially time with her grandchildren doing crafts. In her younger years, she was active in softball and bowling. Later in life, she enjoyed bead work, fishing and restoring furniture.

Grateful for having shared Sherri's life are her son Chris (Jessica) Baade; grandchildren: Taj Mosley, Tanisha Baade, Tai Baade, and Nova Baade; five great-grandchildren brother, Wayne Stone; sister, Mary Stone; nieces and nephews: Grace Stone, Carly Stone, Lauren (Dylan) McCoy, Ezra Baade, and Sheri Lee Pacheco; and sister-in-law, and Rhonda Baade.

Preceding Sherri in death is her mother; and brothers: Leland, Stewart, Rory, and Dana Baade.
