Presidential First Lady of Mexico. María Francisca de Paula Emiliana Ninfa Águila Moya was Mexico's First Lady between the years 1913 and 1914, when her husband, Victoriano Huerta was the President of Mexico. Born into a family that lost part of its wealth during the French Intervention in Mexico, she was the fourth of seven children and a woman noted for her education, kindness, elegance, faith, bearing, virtue and much distinction. She met her future husband while he was doing topographical work in Veracruz and despite the great contrast between the two people, they married in Mexico City, resulting in a marriage known to be unhappy. After becoming the first lady, she fulfilled the obligations of a wife of a president. She attended official parties, organized charity concerts and festivals to which she invited the military, the ministers and the diplomatic corps with her wives, the most famous event being the luxurious wedding of her daughter Luz. After the end of her husband's regime, the family moved to multiple cities in Spain, Cuba and the United States and after Huerta's death in 1916, the family returned to their home in Mexico City where she lived peacefully until her death.
