Mary R. Steffen, of Sheboygan Falls, entered into eternal life on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center.
She was born July 31, 1917 in Titusville, Florida, the daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Chisamore) Heimann.
She attended schools in Charleston and Stanley, WI.
On May 30, 1939 she married Ambrose Karls. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1951. She married Leander Steffen on October 13, 1962.
Mary worked at The Point Drive-in, Troy Laundry & Cleaners, and had been employed by Bernard McCabe family for many years. For 10 years she worked for the Sheboygan Falls School System, before her retirement.
She was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls since 1939. She enjoyed gardening, making quilts for her children and grand children. Mary loved to read, cook and bake.
Mary is survived by her husband, Leander; three daughters, Janet (Frank) Lakotich of Helena, Alabama; Jane (A.C.) West of Meadow Vista, CA, Joyce (Robert) Kubinek of Three Lakes, WI.; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Karls of Sheboygan Falls; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan A. Braun, son-in-law, Fred Braun, son, James Karls, four brothers and one sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish, with the Rev. Robert Lotz, as celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
