Age 63 of Nashville. January 26, 2008. Ron lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on January 26, 2008. He is preceded in death by his father, William Ballard. He is survived by his wife, Nita Ballard; daughter, Jennifer Weatherly (Brent) of Kingston Springs, TN; sons, Paul Ballard (Paula) of Cookeville, TN and David Ballard (Katherine) of Cookeville, TN; five grandchildren, Brady Ballard, Walker and Dallas Weatherly, Adrienne and Amber Ballard; mother, Marie Ballard; brother, Greg Ballard (June) of Nashville, TN; sisters, Linda Ballard of Dover, TN and Nancy Bain (Bill) of Chattanooga, TN. Ron was a veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He was employed with the Department of Water Service, Metro Government of Nashville, TN. He was the Plant Superintendent of the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Nashville. He was a member of the Water Environment Federation and the Kentucky/Tennessee Water Environment Association. Ron was a graduate of Tennessee Technological University, with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the adjunct faculty of Nashville State Community College. He taught classes in civil and environmental engineering technology. His hobbies include golf, woodworking and model railroading. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Tuesday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Larkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Lane. Evan Ballard, Nathan Ballard, Michael Ellis, Jonathan Ellis, Steven Ellis, Steven Rowe, Michael Frensley, Eric Frensley, Bob Fohrd and Brian Maggart will serve as Pallbearers.
