Born July 23, 1929, in Midland, Ind., to Raymond Ira "Ray" and Afton Avanell (Cadwell) Bedwell, he married Lou Crunk in 1947 in Fairview, Ky. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Mark (Pam) and Terry (Susan) Bedwell, both of Elmwood; one daughter, Rebecca (Greg) Martin of Port Angeles, Wash.; one brother, James (Joyce) Bedwell of White Plains, Ky.; and one sister, Carolyn (Jimmy) Phillips of Nortonville, Ky. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Gordon Bedwell; and one sister, Ramona Young.
Jack was a coal miner having last worked for Midland Coal Company.
He was a past president of union Local 1523.
Graveside services will be held at Lehigh Cemetery in rural Elmwood.
