She taught preschool at Tabernacle Baptist Church for twenty five years and at the Church of Christ for ten years before retiring. She earned the nickname "The Biscuit Lady" for the biscuits she baked every morning for her students. She raised three Eagle Scouts and was always ready to sew on the hundreds of patches and badges they earned. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon Allen Burgamy; sister, Mary Boyer; and brother, Gene Archer. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Joy Burgamy of Knoxville, Greg and Robin Burgamy of Michigan, and Jay and Laura Marie Burgamy of Oregon; grandchildren, Laura Ann, Matthew, Jennifer, Trent, and Brook; and great grandson, Oliver Mitchell.
