He served in the U.S. Army from February 1956 to March 1960. He attained the rank of private first class.
He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 41, Kansas City, Mo.
He worked at GK Warehouse from 1960 until 1982, while affiliated with Teamsters Local No. 41, Kansas City, Mo.
He retired from the Osage County Sheriff's Department in 1998. He was undersheriff for three years and sheriff for a year.
Survivors include a daughter, Dana McLaughlin, Independence, Mo.; brothers, Ronald C. Fisher, Lenexa, James L. Fisher, and his companion, Retha Verhage, Shawnee, and Larry Fisher, and his wife, Nina, Ottawa; and grandsons, Trevor McLaughlin and Cade McLaughlin, both of Independence, Mo.
