Frank Dana Abbott of Clearwater, Florida and long time Concord resident, died peacefully at home on July 29, 2013. He was 95 years old.. Frank was born on December 14, 1917 in Belmont, Massachusetts. He attended Belmont High School and captained the schools football team. He married his high school sweetheart, Alma Mitchell, who pre-deceased him in 2004. They were married for over 60 years and had four children. In addition, Frank was cherished by his 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and all his nieces and nephews. Frank is also survived by his wife of three years, and his three siblings. Frank was a World War II veteran and served with the Seabees in the 31st Naval Construction Battalion. After his discharge, he worked for the MBTA and retired with his wife, Alma, to Florida in 1979. Frank and Alma were both avid golfers and bridge players. There will be a memorial service at the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord on August 15th at 3:00PM. All friends of Frank and Alma and family are invited to attend.
