ABERDEEN - Marvin Ford Beasley, 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Excel, Ala., to Melton Thomas Beasley and Missouri Elizabeth Hattaway Beasley. He was a graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, Ala. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942-1945. He served in the Mediterranean Theater with the 15th Air Force Service Command from 1943-1945. He moved to Aberdeen in 1951 and was employed as chief of supply at Machine Products. He then was manager of the Emergency Med Supply Depot and then managed the Civil Defense Depot. He retired from GSA Public Building Service after 26 years. He was a member and deacon of the Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Aberdeen Country Club.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Sandra Sisson officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Brown Beasley of Aberdeen; two sons, Larry Ford Beasley (Janice) of Aberdeen and Charles Nelson "Chuck" Beasley (Annette) of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Felicia Beasley, Daniel Beasley, Jamie Pearson, Jolean Rykaczewski, Amanda Beasley, B.J. Beasley and Jeremy Beasley; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Beasley; his parents; two sisters, Marilou Jewel Bradford and T. Lori Holland; and four brothers, Roy M., Kenneth, Glen M. and M.T. Beasley.
Pallbearers will be Jack Holland, Larry Key, Dr. Arthur Brown, Kyle White, Ralph Bradley and Daniel Beasley.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to service time Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity.
