ELISHA CRIT HARRIS, 80, of Fairhaven, died at his home Sunday, Feb. 9. Born Aug. 20, 1916, in Clay County, Ky., he was the son of Thomas and Martha (Henson) Harris. He married Effie Root on Jan. 7, 1939. He was employed at Fisher Body for many years as a pressman before retiring in 1977. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Effie Root Harris, on July 7, 1963.

Survivors include three sons, William "Bill" Harris of Fairhaven, Anderson (Sherry) Harris of Gainesville, Fla., and Estill Harris of Camden; eight daughters, Anna Lee (Golden) Prater, Princess (Donald) Shollenbarger, Martha (Jerry) Finkbine and Barbara (Robert) Smith, all of Hamilton, Kathleen (Larry) Messer and Janice Roark, all of Oxford, Dorothy Grace Harris of Dayton and Leona Harris of Camden. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Hobert and Homer Henson; a sister, Irene (Hubert) Hooker; companion and caregiver, Wanda Richards; good friend, Sherry Harris; brother-in-law, Clarence Root; nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Allen, Walter and Clarence Harris; two sisters, Rose Jones and Georgia Caudill; two granddaughters, Joanne Eversole and Samantha Finkbine; and a grandson, Rusty Mayberry.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the R.C. Nein and Sons Funeral Home, 249 N. Main St., Camden, with the Rev. Charlie Petit officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery at Fairhaven.
