Julie Ann Broderick (White) passed away from
complications due to cancer on July 24, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Julie was born to Billy Wayne White (Obe Sweetwater) and Beverly June Sedgwick (Faith), on July 4, 1961 in Long Beach, Calif. She was the second of four children. She graduated from Downey High School in Downey, Calif. Julie earned a bachelors degree in elementary education with certificates in both special ed cation and early elementary education from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. She held elementary teaching certificates in Utah and California.
Julie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was sealed for time and all eternity 41 years ago to James M. Broderick in the LDS Los Angeles Temple. She had five children, two boys and three girls.
Julie taught in the Mojave School District (Mojave, Calif.) and the Lancaster School District (Lancaster, Calif.). She taught special ed and kindergarten through fourth grade. She loved teaching, loved her students and was especially good at teaching reading skills.
Julie found joy in her family and friends, painting small rocks, going to the beach and in upbeat music. She enjoyed traveling and learning about new places and cultures. Julie was a mother to many other people and opened up her home to help out when she could. She was a loving person and was loved by many. With Julie you weren't just a friend, you were a loved-one.
Julie was preceded in death by her sister Johnah Kay (Jewel) Coleson. Julie is survived by her husband James Broderick, her children Timothy Broderick, Nicholas Broderick (Ruth), Kassie McQueen (Daniel), Emilyann Richmond (Cory) and Markie Broderick, nine grandchildren, her mother Beverly (Faith) Howard, father Obe Sweetwater, sister Gina (Sharon) Seligman (Larry), brother Steven White and sister Sunshine Diaz (Paul).
Graveside services will be held at the South Jordan City Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to Huntsman Cancer Institute. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
